Ruby With Her Peep
Since Sally's death, Ruby has begun spending most of her waking hours with Skip. Today, I couldn't resist taking some snaps of her snuggled up to the back of Skip's legs.
The girls in comfortable repose
Ruby stretching it out (you'd never believe I just trimmed her toenails last week)
Steve - your powers of observation are too sharp! :-)
Zoomer - are you saying your dogs are always UNDER the covers or that they're not allowed on the bed at all? Ruby sleeps under the covers at night, but stays above all day.
An FAQ on the American Whippet Club website asks "Can I keep my whippet off the furniture?" The answer: "Probably not."
If there is furniture, Bareit is on it. If there are covers, he is under them. At least, his head is under them, and as much of the rest of him as he can manage.
I wouldn't have bought a mini dachs could get up on the bed without help, but I've seen my brother's dog do it -- with a huge bone in her mouth!
Zoomster - Sally could jump like a cat, getting up on the couch with ease, directly from the floor. Pre hospital bed, we had an ottoman the girls would use to make the jump onto the bed easier. We now have a ramp in the bedroom and a ramp for the couch. Ruby's a big girl and we don't want to add further stress to that long back with jumping.
I can just imagine a whippet putting its head under the covers! Great image.

Hi Skip. Hi Ruby. So nice to see you.
Cranky - make your bed.
:-)
The Zoomdoggies wonder why she's on top of the blankets?
Bummer about the nails. We get ours done tonight.
Hi Cranky,
Thanks for sharing these lovely photos of Skip and Ruby,
