The Unanswerable Questions

I'm having one of those kinds of evenings. Wondering what it's all about. Why are we here? What is all this work for and is it worth it?

I have no religious beliefs to fall back on; I basically come up empty at times like this. Just looking into a black hole when trying to fathom the reasons for it all.

Hi Cranky! I used to drive myself nutty thinking about it too. I try to look at it through a personal experience, I'm not religious either. I think my goal in life is to live a happy life and to spread positivity to make mine and the people around me's experience the best it can be...At least that's the latest conclusion!!

Sorry, Cranky, I'm no help here. I haven't got to "why." I'm still working on "what" and "how." And I typically fall back on chocolate and a nap. I guess I'm a simple creature, really.

You have friends who love you and care about you. And there's always chocolate...

Love.

Without it, your efforts have no meaning.

With it, you see how we are all interconnected, floating in a vast emptiness.

Those without love are bitter and a burden.

Those with love recognize their bitterness and work to ease the burden it creates.

To all - thanks for your responses. It looks like we're all pretty much in the same boat ... no great answers. But, when I'm not so cranky, I do realize that love is what it's all about, too.
